Comment Please

I get more motivation to keep updating the blog when people comment...when you don't i feel like nobody reads it and therefore don't feel like I need to continue...its like being in a conversation and when youre mid story and the other person isnt nodding saying.."tell me more..." you just stop because you feel like youre wasting their time. :)

Anyway...I'm gonna talk about running today...so sorry if thats boring. I read in shape magazine a few different ways to run so I've been doing an experiment. As you all know..or will realize once I say this...i have HUGE cankles...I call them "wankles" meaning, Waist-ankles not just calf-ankles. Mine are huge...its a fact and I've come to terms with it so its fine. Make fun all you want. Last year when my hockey team had just a team run..with no shin guards...my friend said to me "whoa morgan, I had no idea your ankles were so fat. thats crazy!! you have muscular legs but your ankles make them look fat"...it was a good day for me all around as you can imagine.

But...I'm trying to get skinnier ankles and I've realized two things as to why my ankles are big (well three including genetics...but i personally believe that I will conquer all of my genetic defects--sorry mom and dad...there aren't that many...its just that...well... i want to conquer them just like you do:) One reason is that I never wear high shoes...I wear flat shoes every day...and i walk and run a lot which just builds my achilles area and lets me use more of my quad/hamstring strength and ankle strength in my daily life. And the other is that I run the wrong way...and always have..which is also why i'm better at long distance than sprints. I depend a LOT on my achilles and hamstring strength when I run because I pound the most on my heels...this also explains why I had bone spurs and planterfascitus  whatever...anyway...I learned in Shape that if you run on the middle/ball of your foot by rolling your foot more with every step..not only will you run faster, but you put less stress on your heels. less painful...and it reshapes your calfs.

If you bend slightly at your hips forward...ery slightly...most runners do this already...but I always have an arched back that leans backward....you will naturally roll more onto the balls of your feet. I've been doing this/working on this for a week now and I can already tell the differece in my legs. Different areas are working and I feel sore in my calves now....very good. I took and before picture and in a month I'm gonna take an after and see if they've changed sizes. BUT

If you have fat ankles or you just want to strengthen your calves...try this for a month and let m eknow.

The more and more I think about it hte more I want to be a writer for a fitness magazine and do tricks like this.

Homerun honey, I have great ankle/calf definition. Though I found your post interesting, it definitely is not useful for me. Thanks

Sounds like a serious case of shin splints coming up. When I was a Marathoner, I tried many different styles of running to eliminate ankle and shin problems. To make a long story short...I weigh 362 and get out of bed for exercise. What's for dessert?
