After this great trip to Aruba...
Man, do I hate that. I've started classes. I've gotten back into babysitting (I am now fully aware that I am fully capable of caring for 4 children at the same time under the age of 6 and am GOOD at it) and I love it! I love kids...they brighten my day. The only thing better than kids is babies...and I watch a bunch of them too:)
Enough about the one thing I did NOT come to Boston to do...and more about why I am here. To be a journalist and to become a good one. Easier said than done. I am now considering the following options of career paths... in addition to considering a few options for my "downtime" this semester.
This semester:
Brown Blog for LaxUnited.com again. ($=0)
Potential Health and Fitness Blog for Blast Magazine--I'll try new fad diets and workout programs and see if they work. The idea is that I will be funny...tricky. ($=0)
Internship with Boston Athletic Association--a PR internship that deals with the Boston Marathon and other big races in the area ($=0)
A Magazine class and a News Editing class.
Post-Graduation:
Production Assistant at a big sports network? (with the hope to break into on-air or some form of broadcast)
Editorial Assistant for a sports or fitness magazine/website? (hope of becoming a reporter and/or editor)
Low-end, and I mean VERY low-end, sports reporter for some form of newspaper/website in a 50 mile radius of Boston?
OR...
Do PR for a sports team? (would slash all possibility of becoming a real reporter later on)
OR...
MOVE somewhere where I know nobody, live by myself and work nights and weekends?
Something to think about...this is more for me than anyone reading it but if you're interested in what I've been doing while not blogging--there you have it. I've also been running long distances--so that's a plus at least.
SIDE NOTE:
I have NEVER been a Favre supporter. I thought he was annoying...with all of the retiring and crawling back and retiring again. Very annoyed by him in the past. But oddly enough, over this season--I like him. A lot. I want him to win a super bowl. He's 40. He's awesome. And it's like he KNEW this was going to happen. I love it. HOWEVER...since Peyton would be his competition on the big day, it's tough to say who I would root for. I love Peyton and always have. We'll just have to wait and see. Maybe I won't even need to pick.

are you really considering moving somewhere where you don't know anyone or is that a joke? I'm curious to know about that
Nice Blog! Don't stress out so much. I hope it helps to vent. Things always work out in the end.
