The Fall

Friday, I went for a run. I went straight from the Gibbon house (main babysitting family with four kids that I'm usually with) out for a run once S(the mom) got home because it was 72 degrees out and we were gona go for ice cream after I came back. (Reason I workout: to eat a lot).

Running down their steep gravel road, I thought to myself that I'm not the most stable person ever and running down the hill was probably dumb. But oh MY was it a great day and all I wanted to do was go for a long long run through the town. Seconds later....WIPE OUT. Turning to my right to enter onto the main street's sidewalk, potholes and gravel got the best of me a literally swept me off my feet in the most brutal way.

I was embarrassed for falling so I popped up planning on continuing the run when i looked down and saw BRIGHT white on my knee and couldn't move my left wrist. I walked briskly back up the hill...nothing hurt yet so I thought I was fine and that I'd just clean it up and go for a run. I was wrong and I tried running again minutes later and burst into tears after 30 seconds. The kids all ran around me when I got back up and wanted to see my "boo boo" (annoying word, but they're awesome). G2told me I was tough (whew), G made me a jellyfish out of paper (because who DOESN'T feel better once they get a cutout of a jellyfish) and H asked me the next day I was there..."How'er weg feewin'?" (How's your leg feeling...in 2-year-old).

I love them...and while I STILL can't run because I seem to have pulled my groin, hip flexor and IT band in the fall, things are getting better. I spent the summer-like weather walking as fast as I could around Brighton for miles and miles. I jogged Sunday for ten minutes but haven't been able to since. Of all the injuries I've had...this is by far the most annoying and hurts a lot. Strangely enough...the scars on my knee are in the EXACT same spots as when I was 14 and fell off a brake-less go-ped while FLYING down my cousins' driveway.

Hand looks way cooler now...here it was just swollen but now it's green and blue.
