Election 2008

As I walked through the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel, I noticed all of the press passes and saw them walking into the Ballroom. The campaign party wouldn't start for another hour and a half, but I was determined to get inside just in case I could see or talk to someone important. I found John Kerry's press secretary and asked where the Press check-in was. She told me to "come right this way"...that really happens apparently...and moments later I was on my way into the ballroom with my friend Tommy. We got inside...she asked us if we needed anything like wireless internet or a radio set-up or a space for a TV broadcast...we looked at eachother and just tried to "play it cool" and replied NO, we're fine. Meanwhile, we weren't REALLY there for a professional station but instead, we were there as reporters for a class! But...nonetheless...it was cool to get in before everyone. We took some pictures, talked to some people and ate the "press" food:)

Hours later, everyone arrived....we were at John Kerry's Campaign Party in Boston...where everyone was more excited than I've seen in a long time. We talked to a number of important people...i would go through it but I don't feel like it...but later on...I pushed my way to the front of the room...where HUNDREDS of Obama and Kerry supporters sloppily got drunk and rambled on about the economy...and got some good pics. He later walked off the stage and posed for a good picture that I was taking...later thanking me...for what you ask? I don;'t know..but John Kerry thanked me and he's an importnt person so I'll take it. He also put his hand on my shoulder..I wish I cared more..but it was cool.

Here is an article I wrote about the event...It explains the expereince a little better than I'm doing right now
