Cherry blossoms bring the feeling of new beginnings and a fresh start. Maybe it's a little late for you Marylanders to be thinking about the start to Spring, but for me, it's just getting here now and OH how happy I am.
I took about 30 pictures of him in this little park, they are all hilarious but are taking too long to upload so this is the only one I got for now.
As for other things going on... it was 80 degrees today! After a long morning run, I spent the day babysitting and then hung out in East Boston with some friends and went to dinner. I have THREE DAYS LEFT OF GRADUATE SCHOOL! I am excited for the end, which is odd because I usually fear ANYTHING ending but I have a sense of urgency about the rest of my life.
I am READY. I'm ready to move on from schooling, I'm ready to be an adult, I'm ready to not have to commute an hour to school, I'm ready for a short break, I'm ready to work for money (ha), and most of all, I'm ready to see Jordan more. While that final one doesn't seem to be happening any time soon, since he works 12-hour days, lives far away from me and is a coach and a professional athlete...I am ready to be excited about my future and come to terms with the realities in my life.
My first BIG step to that new beginning is a NEW JOB! WAHOOOO! I got one. That's right, a job. I have one. And thank the Lord, it's not just another freelancing job. I will be writing for the Patriot Ledger as a high school sports reporter. This is a nights/weekends job and is NOT full time and does NOT mean I will stop babysitting or freelancing but instead, it will take the place of all the hours I spent in school NOT getting paid for hard work. Above all, however, this job is a consistent one and oh how I've longed for consistency these past few years. I am excited and happy and content and can't WAIT for the day that I get to have just ONE job, but for now, I'LL TAKE IT.
For those who have lost track, I know I have, here's a quick update/rundown of my jobs:
4 kid family
2 kid family #1
2 kid family #2
freelance job with Lax Journal
freelance job with Needham Times--here's my latest story
now--Patriot Ledger.
Also, I have a VERY IMPORTANT meeting on Tuesday with a VERY IMPORTANT person who runs a VERY IMPORTANT sports media network in New England and God willing, this important man will bring me at least one step closer to getting an even better job down the road. Updates to come on that AND updates on my new running goals!
Happy New Beginnings to all.
