I love seasons. I love Fall in Boston. Most of all, I love being able to spend weekends enjoying the outdoors, eating awesome things and doing it all with lovely people. A few weeks ago, I gathered a troop of some of my favorite buddies for a hiking adventure at Blue Hills Reservation. It's literally 20 minutes from the city, but you feel like your in the depth of nature. It's glorious.
But first, Jordan and I met our good friends Tim and Chrissy in Brookline for some of these....
Now that's what I call a Crepe. If you live in the area, you have to visit Paris cafe and order at least 7 of their apple and brie crepes. They are the bomb. Chrissy and I begged to order more, but the boys told us we couldn't--what sexist pigs. :)
It's a good thing we got pumped up with cheese and pumpkin spice lattes, because our first activity at Blue Hills was a fairly intense and reckless game of catch.
Ok, so really it was just Caitlin and Jordan passing to each other--huffing and puffing like they're important athletes.
Then, the climb. Despite having a view of Boston, the blue hills are actually pretty challenging.
Even the super stars needed a break.
Not this one. She was all hopped up on crepes.
Please notice my walking stick. Thank you Jordan. So thoughtful.
We successfully passed the football the entire time--which involved lots of tasks to find the ball when we misjudged our passing distance.
Such an experienced hiker...and check out the lady in the back. I'm not taking a picture of you. Don't worry.

Once we reached the bottom again, we rounded out our fun-filled day at Ikea with Zack and Caitlin. We spent more time eating affordable meatballs than shopping...but we did buy something useful. Photos on that to come.

LOVE finding fun spots just outside of the city! DC is great for that also (as I'm sure you know). Its wonderful to get out and experience the outdoors and take a break from city life :)
