Pick a Peck

Two worlds collide.
My obsession with apple picking and anything remotely seasonal and annoying.
Jordan's love for sports, sports and more sports.
We missed the first half of the game for this.
We were only here for 3.5 minutes.
But I got a whole mess of apples. And did a lot of happy dancing to celebrate before Jordan left me and demanded we leave immediately to listen to the Redskins lose on the radio.
The pictures speak for themselves.

Maryland Happenings

The latter part of our weekend home was filled with runs through my neighborhood (i.e. my favorite place in the Fall), the Light the Night walk, Pumpkin Patch adventures with Flo and watching the Redskins be terrible.

The LLS walk was amazing. As a team, we raised more than our $20,000 goal! Wahoo! I am so happy I could make it home for this great walk. Claudia is the campaign manager for the Montgomery County walk and she did an AMAZING job. The weather was perfect and the walk through Rockville was a great way to show our support for the LLS mission, catch up on each other's lives and enjoy the views of so many red, white and yellow balloons in the night.
Part of Maddie's Team! Lizzie, Laura, Me and Courtney

Red balloons were held by people walking in support of the LLS cause and the fight against blood cancers. Gold balloons were held in memory of a lost loved one and white balloons were carried by survivors.

Seeing our BORG at the end of the walk!

After the walk, Jordan and I rushed back to my house for a big family dinner. You know what that means.....BABY!!!
we threw him in the air

He watched TV, his favorite hobby

He danced around
We threw him in the air some more

He laughed and ate his hands

Larry was the center of attention, as always
Then, on Sunday, I went over to Megan and Christian's and tagged along on their first trip to Butler's Orchard with Flo. First, he showed me some tricks.
He can Sit!

He loved the Hay. Poor kid is doomed in the sports fan world. It's sad for all of us.

He pretended to be a ghost

We hung out in the back seat of the car alllll the way home.

Thanks for being so cute, Flo. I love you.

I generally hate the zoo...

...unless it's filled with tiny rugby-shirted babies named Flo.

A few weeks ago, Jordan and I flew home to Maryland (shocker...according to my bank account I've spent more on airline tickets in the last six months than I earn in an entire month--woops). While our primary purpose was to walk for Maddie's Team in the LLS Light the Night walk (way to go borg!), it also meant my first time seeing Flo since (gasp!) the wedding. He is a full six weeks older and somehow, an even cuter bundle of cuteness than before. I want to squeeze him---oh wait, I already did, a lot.

I often feel sad for the animals at the Zoo and it makes me feel just like him....

Concerned...and then...

Sad. But, they seemed to be pretty happy I guess.

I'm really not so sure, but I do hope they all love living at the zoo as much as people love going to see them. If and when I find out otherwise, I will call upon myself to set them all free.

But for now, enjoy these photos of my tiny little friend and the humans who will rear him into a freak-of-nature athlete.

If the sign below doesn't make you kind of dislike the zoo, we probably have very little in common.

Fall Fun

I love seasons. I love Fall in Boston. Most of all, I love being able to spend weekends enjoying the outdoors, eating awesome things and doing it all with lovely people. A few weeks ago, I gathered a troop of some of my favorite buddies for a hiking adventure at Blue Hills Reservation. It's literally 20 minutes from the city, but you feel like your in the depth of nature. It's glorious.

But first, Jordan and I met our good friends Tim and Chrissy in Brookline for some of these....

Now that's what I call a Crepe. If you live in the area, you have to visit Paris cafe and order at least 7 of their apple and brie crepes. They are the bomb. Chrissy and I begged to order more, but the boys told us we couldn't--what sexist pigs. :)

It's a good thing we got pumped up with cheese and pumpkin spice lattes, because our first activity at Blue Hills was a fairly intense and reckless game of catch.
Ok, so really it was just Caitlin and Jordan passing to each other--huffing and puffing like they're important athletes.

Then, the climb. Despite having a view of Boston, the blue hills are actually pretty challenging.

Even the super stars needed a break.

Not this one. She was all hopped up on crepes.

Please notice my walking stick. Thank you Jordan. So thoughtful.

We successfully passed the football the entire time--which involved lots of tasks to find the ball when we misjudged our passing distance.

Such an experienced hiker...and check out the lady in the back. I'm not taking a picture of you. Don't worry.

Once we reached the bottom again, we rounded out our fun-filled day at Ikea with Zack and Caitlin. We spent more time eating affordable meatballs than shopping...but we did buy something useful. Photos on that to come.
