Pick a Peck

Two worlds collide.
My obsession with apple picking and anything remotely seasonal and annoying.
Jordan's love for sports, sports and more sports.
We missed the first half of the game for this.
We were only here for 3.5 minutes.
But I got a whole mess of apples. And did a lot of happy dancing to celebrate before Jordan left me and demanded we leave immediately to listen to the Redskins lose on the radio.
The pictures speak for themselves.

One

I, Morgan, choose you Jordan to be my husband, my best friend and the love of my life forever. I promise you my deepest love, my fullest devotion, and my endless support through all of the uncertainties we'll face in this world together. I vow to be faithful to you, to lend you my strength in times of weakness, to support your dreams, to bring out the best in you always, to laugh with you into eternity, and to never take this love for granted.

You are the calm to my storm, the joy that fills my heart, and I thank God for bringing you into my life. You are my soulmate. My love for you can never be halted for I am yours and you are mine. I ask you to share your world with me and I promise to stand by you, care for you, and love you with every ounce of my being from now until forever.

We spent our first "legal"anniversary together in beautiful Maine
eating lobster
biking lots of miles
taking awkward photos of ourselves with timers
taking awkward photos of each other just because
eating more lobster
then some ice cream
then more lobster
fishing
trail running
s'more making
showing off our tan lines
getting one million bug bites
walking on the beach
relaxing
having the most fun ever
and dreaming of the day we'll get to live in a peaceful place like this.

You're the best.
Let's do fun things like this forever.
I love you.

Living with a Lunatic

Even-keeled. Calm. Unexcitable. Composed. Steady. Undisturbed.

These are all words that have been used to describe Jordan Burke - yeah, that guy up there in front of the TV cameras. As an athlete and a professional, Jordan has proven that he can get the job done no matter what the pressure, the excitement around him and the challenge he's facing. This goes for everything in his life - sports, work and his biggest challenge of all, me.

Except there's just this one thing:
He's a complete lunatic.

What all of you aren't seeing is what happens to this creature during NHL playoffs. I knew what I was getting myself into when I married this freak, but during the 10 months out of the year that playoffs are not happening - I'm blinded by all of that tranquility he exudes - just like all of you.

But during the playoffs, everything changes.
He's on edge. He throws things. He yells. He kicks inanimate objects. He shoves handfuls of chocolate covered anything down his throat. He runs into walls and trips over shoes while attempting to fill a glass of water when the game is on. He pours glass after glass of whiskey - straight up. He pouts like 4-year-old who was just scolded in the middle of Legoland and told that he in fact will NOT be going home with any toys today. He curses. And sometimes, just sometimes, he yells and jumps and laughs like a hyena when the Caps do something great.

One thing is for sure - he becomes the complete OPPOSITE of those choice adjectives up there.
And in case you're wondering, I avoid all eye contact.
I mind my business.
I sit on the other side of the room.
I only speak when spoken to.

For the love of God - I can only hope we win it all.
I was never meant to be the calm one.

Miss Independent

That's right, I got to watch and listen to Miss Independent herself live. It was the most amazing concert I think I've ever been to. Jordan is quite possibly the most amazing man of all time and bought these SWEET tickets online for me us.:)

It felt like we just kept walking...I couldn't believe that we were so close. The 10th row. Amazing.

I can't put into words how much I love Kelly Clarkson and how much I REALLY love her opening act, Matt Nathanson. He was also phenomenal live and had some serious energy.

While he didn't sing any of my old school favorites (like, literally from his first album when I was 12 and nobody knew who he was), he was incredible.

Kelly sang all of it and I probably smiled and squeeled as much as I did when I met the Spice Girls. She is so normal and the venues she chooses are all small (I saw her at the Wang Theater in Boston, where I graduated from Emerson). She sang all of her new stuff and finished with Miss Independent and I'm pretty sure I started crying. I love her. She is the ONE constant artist on my ADHD running playlist. She is what I love most about running-- weird right?

Jordan thinks I have real issues but he agreed that she is unbelievable live.

I'm not just saying that.
Here are some more photos. Please see her live if you can and if you don't have the same love for her that I do... what are you doing with your time? Download all five albums right away.

Oh, you know when you LOVE a duet and it is really lame live? Check out how she performed "Don't You Wanna Stay?" up there with Jason Aldean. SO cool. It was like he was there. I think I cried during this too.

So sue me.

I love you Matt Nathanson. I really love you Kelly Clarkson. And I SUPER love you Jordan Burke for taking me out (and paying for) one of my favorite dates in 8.6 years:)
