Running in public

I'm fairly certain this is the face I make when I run. Not all the time, but more often than I should and definitely enough that lots of people in this small city probably think I have serious issues. Whatever, I'm running fast so it's hard. The best part? I'm actually having a great time.

Yesterday, I went out for what I thought would be just a little 2-mile jaunt to get me moving on a Saturday. About a mile in, I remembered that I signed up for a 10k on Thanksgiving a while back and haven't even considered the fact that I'm not really running much distance these days because of work, cold, me getting lazy and being unreasonably tired in the mornings.

Therefore, I decided I should probably make sure I've even capable of running 6 miles. I ran just under that and survived, but not without some serious facial exression drama. On the hills, I sprint because there's no use in taking your time on hills--it's less efficient for your body and it gets you in shape much more quickly if you just suck it up and run those hills. That being said, the face is in full effect for much of my time on the street.

If you ever catch me on the street looking at you with a face like that up there, don't take it personally. You're not the only one.
